We are looking for up to 10 x Nursery persons to join our team. You will be working at various nursery sights around South Auckland.
Payrate - $25 to $26 per hour
Minimum Hours – 30 per week
Location of Work – Auckland Region
We are looking for up to 10 x Nursery persons to join our team. You will be working at various nursery sights around South Auckland.
You will be responsible for:
Preparing land, pots & containers for plantation and seeding.
Ensure that soil has appropriate mixture of fertilizers/mixing and are conducive for seeing or plantation.
Ensuring that soil has appropriate moisture for seeing/plantation.
Select seeds/bulbs/cuttings and plant them appropriately in selected area.
Ensure that all plantations are watered appropriately as required
Protecting plants from diseases, weeds by applying required pesticides, weed controls.
Ensure that plants have sufficient nutrition as required
Ensure that plants are protected from environmental conditions such as heavy rain, wind, humidity, dryness, heat etc.
Ensure that plants are displayed appropriately for sale as required.
Dealing with customers and advising them on plant care
Taking other appropriate measures as required to ensure that plants are healthy and flourishing
To be successful for this role, you must:
Have a qualification in horticulture/agriculture OR a minimum of 3-year work experience working in a nursery or in a similar setting such as agriculture/horticulture/farming and executing similar tasks as below.
Be familiar with seeding, plantation, plant care soil fertility, applying pesticides, weed control.
Be well organized with good time management
Be honest and enthusiastic with a positive and mature attitude
Available to work on weekends.
Available to work on public holidays if required
Must be physically fit for lifting.
