This posting is for 2 (two) Auxiliary On Call positions. Auxiliaries provide coverage for leave of absences, and for short notice vacancies. Please note, as an auxiliary on-call employee there are no guarantee of hours.
Preference to those applicants who reside in Dawson City.
The job is based in the thriving city of Dawson City in the beautiful Yukon Territory.

Essential Qualifications
Please submit your resume clearly demonstrating how you meet the following qualifications. Please note selection for further consideration will be based solely on the information you provide in your resume. (Preparing your resume/cover letter may be helpful to you.)
Relevant experience in caring for people, preferably caring for chronically ill or elderly clients
Experience working in long term care OR experience providing personal care preferred
Experience working with various cultural backgrounds
Candidates who have education, training, and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above may be equally considered.
Desired Knowledge, Skills and Suitability

Excellent communication skills both oral and written
Ability to respect confidentiality
Ability to work independently as well as within team
Strong client focus including a commitment to promote quality of life, dignity and respect
Conditions of Employment
You must have the following before being hired into this position or within the time specified.
TB screening, Vulnerable Sector RCMP Security Clearance and CPR Level C (within last 2.5 years), WHMIS 2015, HCA, PSW, CCA, or PCA certificate, and Food Safe level1 (completed within the last 2 years).
Job Requirement
Shift Work; Exposure to flowers and/or plants and/or second hand smoke; Exposure to animals; Heavy lifting and bending; Exposure to latex products and other irritants; Exposure to weather while assisting residents outside; Lifting up to 50 lbs as part of resident care and transfers.
