Job Description Nurse Educator
Summary: Provides education and evaluation to nursing and care taker staff, and facilitates evidenced-based research within a specialized area of nursing. Collaborates with medical practitioners to incorporate nursing processes into the plan of care for a specialized group of patients. Performs direct specialty nursing services to patients as required, ensuring adherence nursing clinical standards, process & guidelines.
Responsibilities
• Provides educational leadership to nursing and care takers to enhance specialized patient care within established healthcare setting.
• Assists patients and caregivers with educational needs, problem resolution, and health management across the continuum of care.
• Initiates skills development programs within the parameters of established care models; monitors trends and implements educational strategies to ensure compliance with quality standards and parameters.
• Develops patient care plans, incorporating evidenced-based research and national standards; consults with and serves as a resource to ensure quality patient care.
• Educates technical and patient care staff in the use of new equipment, supplies, and instruments; coordinates in-service training and workshops for appropriate staff.
• Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
• Demonstrated communication skills necessary to explain complex medical and scientific concepts in a manner thats easy to understand and provide written feedback on nurses & care takers.
Qualifications
BSc in Nursing/MSc in Nursing
Experience: 5-10 years of relevant experience
