As an Occupational Health Nurse, you will provide medical screening and monitoring, such as: electrocardiograms (ECGs), and pulmonary function tests. You will also provide interpretation of screening and laboratory results. Primary duties include:

Perform audiometric testing and interpretation with comparison to previous audiograms.
Execute pulmonary function testing and interpretation with comparison to previous tests.
Conduct electrocardiograms with comparison to previous tests and send for external interpretation if concerned.
Complete vision acuity and color blind testing and interpretation with comparison to previous results.
Perform blood pressure tests, check ear canals and drums, measure height and weight (convert results from metric to imperial).
Communicate test results and provide information and resources either by telephone or in person.
Ensure charts are completed with required information-test results, records and dates.
Engage in on-going communication with physicians to flag concerns or abnormal test results.
Communicate test and blood work results to patients in a manner that is easily understood and meaningful.
Qualifications
A degree in Nursing and current certification as a Registered Nurse with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) is required.
Current certification in audiometric and pulmonary function testing is required.
Formal training in occupational health and experience in occupational testing using diagnostic equipment is preferred.
At least 1 year of related work experience.
Certification in vision screening will be considered an asset.
Proficiency in performing health screening tests in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication and customer service skills and the ability to remain calm in a stressful and busy environment.
Pre-employment Requirements
A security clearance will be conducted.

Compensation: Pay Grade 11 $46.21 - 61.78 per hour
Days of Work: This is an on-call position that
works weekdays between 7am - 5pm.

Hours of work: On-call hours vary based on
operational requirements.
