Job Summary
Provides evaluations and direct patient care to individuals of all ages, aiming to maximize their function and independence, with thorough documentation of the care provided. Additionally, performs other operational duties for the Rehab Services department as required. Will provide occupational therapy services to outreach sites as needed.

Job Description
Essential Functions:
• Applies proficient critical thinking and discernment in the dispensation of healthcare. Administers all aspects of treatment based upon recognized national protocols, departmental guidelines and current evidence-based best practices. Delivers therapy that satisfies or exceeds the outcome targets established by the department.
• To support medical necessity, departmental standards require documents to be processed with accuracy and in a timely manner.
• Submits the requisite paperwork for billing, ensures exact charges and legitimate authorizations. Demonstrates the appropriate utilization of time, as per the current productivity standards in the department.
• Displays a keen interest in enhancing individual professional growth. Ensures timely completion of mandatory education requirements laid down by Monument Health system and for obtaining necessary licensure/certification. Actively advocates for the profession both within Monument Health and in the outside community.
• Adheres to the guidelines set by professional associations, state, and national regulations when offering supervision.
• Engages patients, their families, and other caregivers in treatment, goal setting, and discharge planning when applicable.
• Maintains adherence to all legal and regulatory obligations pertaining to insurance, national and state administrative bodies, and accrediting associations.
• All other duties as assigned.
Additional Requirements
Required:
Education - Bachelors: Occupational Therapy
Certification - Occupational Therapist (OT) - South Dakota Board of Medical and Osteopathic Examiners
Preferred:
Education - Masters: Occupational Therapy
Physical Requirements:
Heavy-duty responsibilities - involve constant exertion of force over 25 pounds (67-100% of the time), frequent application of force over 50 pounds (34-66% of the time), occasional work requiring over 100 pounds of force (up to 33% of the time), including very rare handling of objects exceeding 100 pounds. Potential exposure to bodily fluids, blood, or tissues may occur. The position requires flexibility to work scheduled shifts, which may include night shifts or occasional irregular hours.
