Your first 6 months in the agency are probationary and considered a training period, with formal and on-the-job training with your supervisor and your colleagues
Special Note• All positions require a successful completion of a background investigation, including fingerprinting and a criminal records check.• Additionally, while the Division does have vehicles assigned to it, they may not always be available for staff use
Current automotive insurance must be in place prior to use of a personal vehicle while conducting business on behalf of the State.• The successful candidate may be required to attend multiple training courses normally located in Anchorage.A cover letter is NOT required for this position

Special Note: "High school diploma equivalent" means one of the following: 1) a G.E.D.; 2) completion of any basic adult education course equivalent to 480 class hours (16 weeks at 30 course hours per week); 3) acceptance in full standing by an accredited college or university; 4) highest grade of school completed plus an amount of paid or volunteer experience that totals 12 years and includes basic clerical tasks such as greeting clients, answering phones, typing, filing, sorting mail, entering data, receiving payments, making change, or maintaining logs
Such positions require that the applicant possess a regular driver's license and be 18 years of age or older
Some position in this class may require skill in typing

Responsibilities
What You Will Be Doing: As an Office Assistant 2, you will work with two other Office Assistants providing a full range of administrative duties for the Office of Children’s Services
Some duties will including complex data entry, creating, and maintaining financial files and records
Providing back up support for processing payments, reimbursements, assisting in day-to-day functions and providing assistance to other units within the Anchorage regional office when needed
You will be playing a vital role in the workflow of the office, which greatly contributes to our mission of strengthening Alaska's families and children
Clerical: applies knowledge of clerical equipment and software, processes, techniques, and professional standards to complete routine office work to generally accepted professional standards
Completes work independently with minimal supervision
Uses skills and abilities to complete tasks consisting of many different and connected parts, including deciding which processes to use
Computer Skills: Uses computers, software applications, databases, and automated systems to accomplish work.3. Customer Service: Interacts with recipients of services (internal or external customers) in a way that provides accurate, timely, and effective information and service in a courteous and professional manner
Reading Comprehension: Comprehends and correctly applies information presented in written form
Makes correct inferences; draws accurate conclusions.5.
