Responsibilities
Responsible for admission of all patients entering Western State Hospital
Interviewing patients and completing required documentation
Data entry into computer systems
Assisting Admitting Physician with admission process
Preparing Admission Papers
Requesting information from other facilities when needed
Creating Medical Records for patients
Operating centralized telephone switchboard system
Making announcements and overhead pages
Monitoring emergency telephone line and fire panel
Communicating with Christian County Emergency Operations via radio
Maintaining in-hospital directory lists
Sorting and distributing mail daily
Serving as radio base operator for campus
Responsible to: Director, Information Support Services
Supervises: None
Works closely with: All hospital disciplines, especially Medical Staff, general public, staff from other facilities, legal authorities, and individuals associated with admission process
Evaluations: Annually
