Job Description
The Billy Barker Days Society is seeking a motivated and organized Office Assistant to join our team for the 2026 Billy Barker Days Festival season. This is a temporary position running through to the end of July and offers an exciting opportunity to be part of organizing one of the community’s most celebrated annual events.
The Office Assistant will work closely with the Office Manager and support Festival Directors in the coordination and administration of festival events and activities.
Responsibilities
Assist the Office Manager with general office administration and daily operations
Support Festival Directors with event coordination and organizational tasks
Answer phone calls, emails, and assist with public inquiries
Assist with volunteer coordination and communication
Prepare materials, forms, and information for events and meetings
Perform general clerical duties including filing, data entry, and document preparation
Assist with festival preparations leading up to and during Billy Barker Days
Skills
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
Professional and friendly attitude
Basic computer proficiency, including Excel and email communication
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Working Conditions
This position may require occasional evening or weekend work during festival preparation and event dates.
