The Office Assistant supports daily operations of the I WILL GRADUATE Youth Development Program, ensuring efficient administrative processes and professional communication. This role is fast-paced, collaborative, and includes support with basic social media content. Ideal for a recent graduate or early-career professional.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree required
1–2 years of administrative or office experience (internship experience accepted)
Experience with basic social media content creation
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Friendly, professional, customer-service–oriented demeanor
Ability to work independently with confidentiality and discretion
Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus
Must pass NYC Department of Education (DOE) background check
Responsibilities
Support planning and execution of events, workshops, and special projects
Schedule meetings, manage calendars, and coordinate appointments
Perform general administrative tasks (filing, organizing documents, inventory, reports)
Draft, edit, and proofread emails, letters, and other documents
Create presentations, forms, and spreadsheets using Microsoft Office and Google Suite
Transcribe meeting minutes and assist with documentation needs
Provide excellent customer service to staff, students, partners, and visitors
Assist with basic social media content creation (posts, captions, simple graphics)
Anticipate needs and offer timely solutions
Perform additional administrative tasks to support organizational goals
Additional Hiring Requirement
Final candidates must complete a 1–3 day in-person evaluation period, working onsite and completing assigned administrative tasks. Compensation is provided at the equivalent hourly rate.
