About the Opportunity
We are excited to announce an opening of a temporary Officer Early Career Academy – Clerk Grade 3/4 position within our Attraction & Engagement Programs team in the School Workforce Directorate at the NSW Department of Education.
The Early Career Academy (ECA) is a key initiative for the department to support individuals as they commence their teaching degree, select a career in NSW public schools and succeed in the classroom as beginning and early career teachers. The ECA’s aim is to build a strategic and co-ordinated approach to attracting, retaining, and supporting initial teacher education (ITE) students and their transition to beginning teachers in NSW public schools.

About the School Workforce Directorate
The School Workforce Directorate develops and implements initiatives to support school workforce strategy and planning and leads the delivery of attraction and engagement programs for teachers. It manages the recruitment and placement process for all NSW Public Schools and oversees the department’s relationship with initial teacher education providers and National Education Standards Authority. It has a continuous improvement focus and transforms data into information and insights to create opportunity, understanding and system improvement. About the role
The Officer, Early Career Academy, supports the work of the Attraction and Engagement Programs team within the School Workforce Directorate.
Reporting to the Lead, Teacher Attraction Initiatives, the Officer, Early Career Academy will be responsible for assisting in the coordination of various digital channels and projects to showcase the teaching profession and support key deliverables.
The successful candidate will have:
Experience in coordinating and managing digital communication channels and content development, including websites, recruitment EDMs, social media, and podcasts.
Strong administrative and project management skills to support workflow efficiency, content archiving, and process optimisation.
Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support communication and program outcomes.
Proficiency in using analytics tools to analyse performance data and produce actionable reports for program improvement.
Resilience and adaptability to manage competing priorities, deadlines, and stakeholder expectations within a dynamic, high-pressure environment.

Essential requirements of the role
A valid driver's license (provisional or above) and ability to undertake short term travel.
Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
Key knowledge and experience
Knowledge of and a minimum of 3 years of experience in business, communications, marketing, project management or related discipline.
Experience working in the education sector, supporting the delivery of high-quality services and products to a variety of internal and external stakeholders highly regarded
Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
