Job Description

The Department of Psychology at Brandon University invites applications for a one-year term position beginning August 1, 2026, or as mutually agreed, subject to budgetary approval. We promote excellence in our teaching and seek an individual who will help support, build, and maintain the momentum in our program.

Qualifications: A doctorate in Psychology or related discipline with a generalist approach. A successful record of teaching will be considered an asset. Applicants may seek to establish an experiential/traditional equivalency to the doctorate and are invited to contact the Chair of the Selection Committee on how to establish equivalent academic or professional credentials.

Responsibilities: The successful applicant may teach courses from several areas including Child Psychology, Adolescent Psychology, Psychology of Aging, Instrumental/Classical Conditioning, Environmental Psychology, Motivation, and/or other courses in the department, as required. Applicants should indicate their level of experience with and willingness to teach these various courses, which are expected to be taught in-person. The successful candidate may also engage in research and supervise Honours undergraduate student(s) in Psychology. The candidate will also be expected to participate in Departmental, University and community service.

Rank and Salary: Commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience.

Internal applicants are current full-time or part-time Brandon University Faculty Association (BUFA) Members, Contract Academic Staff who hold RFR in one (1) or more courses in the Department of Psychology, or the spouse/partner of a current full-time or part-time BUFA Member on a continuing or regular appointment.
