About the opportunity:
Northern Star Resources have an exciting opportunity for a Trainer & Assessor, supporting the Open Pit Department at our Thunderbox Operations. FIFO ex Perth, 14:14 roster.
Here’s what awaits you:
Work with supervisors and managers to ensure that competencies, compliances and procedures required for each role reflect the work they undertake.
Work with supervisors to maintain an acceptable standard of training competence.
Maintain INX InTuition for the Open Pit Department, including any permanent contract staff.
Keep up to date records of all personnel training records.
Maintain a training requirements register to ensure personnel training targets are met to achieve area competencies.
Maintain the department training and skills competency matrix.
Align training for compliance as required e.g. Working at Heights.
Ensure compliance of personnel with site and corporate training requirements.
Ensure personnel complete training requirements in a timely manner.
Attend prestart meetings and provide feedback as required
Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) updating, review and writing.
Conversion of JHA’s to procedures.
Carry out workplace inspections.
Department specific inductions and assist with site inductions as required.
To thrive in this role, you’ll need:
Experience: 3 years’ experience in a similar role, within an open pit mining environment
Qualification: Certificate IV in Training and Assessing, Senior First Aid Certificate and current Australian C - Class Drivers Licence
Passion for growth: Genuine passion for the Australian gold mining industry with high regard for safety
