1. Preoperative Phase:
• Patient Assessment: Conduct thorough assessments of patients before surgery to gather information about their medical history, allergies, and current health status.
• Preparation: Prepare patients for surgery by providing preoperative care, explaining procedures, and addressing any concerns or questions they may have.
• Documentation: Ensure accurate and complete documentation of patient information, including preoperative assessments, consent forms, and relevant medical records.
2. Intraoperative Phase:
• Assisting Surgeons: Collaborate with the surgical team, assisting surgeons during procedures by providing necessary instruments, supplies, and maintaining a sterile environment.
• Monitoring: Continuously monitor the patient's vital signs, anesthesia administration, and other parameters during surgery.
• Communication: Maintain effective communication with the surgical team to ensure the smooth flow of the operation.
3. Postoperative Phase:
• Recovery: Provide postoperative care, monitoring patients as they recover from anesthesia and surgery.
• Pain Management: Administer and manage pain relief measures and medications as prescribed.
• Wound Care: Monitor and care for surgical wounds, ensuring infection prevention and proper healing.
• Patient Education: Educate patients and their families on postoperative care instructions, medications, and potential complications.
4. Equipment and Sterilization:
• Instrumentation: Assist in the preparation and sterilization of surgical instruments and equipment.
• Maintaining Sterility: Ensure the maintenance of a sterile environment in the operating room to minimize the risk of infections.
5. Emergency Situations:
• Emergency Response: Be prepared to respond to emergency situations during surgery, such as unexpected bleeding or other complications.
