Let Us Tell You a Bit About The Opportunity
The Operational Risk Partner will play a key role in providing oversight, assurance and insight of the management of information security risks, controls and related change programmes. The role will also support delivery of the Risk strategy by defining and implementing the second line operating model to oversee information security risk management. The Risk Partner reports into the Head of Risk (Technology, Cyber and Data).
What will your day look like?
• Execute 2nd Line Risk oversight activities across Information Security to ensure adequate review and challenge (e.g. in relation to risk profile definition, risk identification, control design and implementation, control testing, risk scenarios, monitoring, governance, risk appetite and reporting).
• Partner with the Cyber leadership team to develop a comprehensive view of Aldermore’s cyber risk profile and risk management maturity.
• Apply your knowledge of information security processes, controls and control testing to recommend enhancements and new controls to support a strong control environment.
• Identify cyber risk insights and provide input into Risk governance reporting to Technology and Cyber Risk Forums, Executive and Board level risk reporting.
• Lead engagement with the Information Security uplift programme to provide ongoing oversight of both project delivery risk and delivered operational risks.
• Support the Head of Risk to define and implement an ongoing operating model to oversee cyber risks.
What Do We Expect From You
• Confidently able to provide challenge at all levels of the organisation, using their subject matter expertise and experience as leverage to ensure the best outcome for Aldermore.
• Subject matter expertise in cyber risk management with a track record of delivery within financial services.
• Experience of working within risk management or control functions across the three lines of defence.
• Broad exposure to related disciplines within Risk (e.g. technology, data, change) and awareness of market best practice in risk management
• Understanding of the principles of control environment design and operation
• Experience of carrying out control testing
