What is the opportunity?
The Operations Analyst, IST Mainframe is responsible for assisting application development areas and testers in conducting testing and quality assurance in the Integration & System Testing environment. The IST environment is built to closely reflect the Production systems in order to provide the developers with a robust and solid environment to conduct testing. The role is also to ensure proper procedures are in place and followed to maintain the integrity of these environments. This role may require overtime on weekdays or weekends (with overtime pay or time off in lieu).
What will you do?
Assists developers with their test cycles and in applying their Change Records in a timely fashion
Runs, monitors and resolves issues in the daily batch schedule according to pre-determined requirements
Assists developers in setting up applications in the testing environments by reviewing test requirements and building necessary ZEKE flows
Builds automation processes required to ensure availability of the IST environments
Provides support for problem calls during scheduled business hours
Conduct review of test results with applications to ensure goals are achieved and necessary refreshes applied
Demonstrate the ability to work with Service Providers, clients, and support staff effectively at a technical level.
Develop & maintain the skills to adapt and adjust to the many changes in technology as they are related to the zOS platform
role is in office with work home per mangers discretion. Traing to be done in the office
What do you need to succeed?
Must have:
Previous experience monitoring system performance, resolving availability issues, and optimizing processes to meet uptime and efficiency targets
Previous experience running daily batch processes according to predefined schedules and requirements, ensuring timely and accurate execution
Skilled at diagnosing and resolves batch-related issues, and escalating critical problems to relevant teams when necessary
Solid knowledge of JCL, TSO, ISPF, Zeke, Beta91, HSDS, WAS, JES2 AOC, OMVS
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify automation opportunities, streamline workflows, and minimize manual intervention
Willing to work a 1pm to 9pm shift on a rotational basis to run, monitor, and resolve issues in the daily batch schedule according to pre-determined requirements (May be required to work overtime weekends and paste 9pm as required)
Strong communication skills
Knowledge of IMS, CICS DB2
Nice to have:
Degree or diploma in a related field
Previous banking experience
