Operations and Events Manager
Operations and Events Manager – Muskoka Cruises Operations Responsibilities:
Daily Boat Logistics: Coordinate crew schedules, ensure boats are properly staffed and prepped for cruises.
Safety Oversight: Ensure safety checks are being done thoroughly and consistently. Organize drills and respond to incidents.
Customer Experience: Monitor cruise quality — from ticket scanning to farewell — making sure every guest gets the 5-star Muskoka experience.
Staff Support: Train new hires, solve mid-shift issues, help out where needed (you’re as likely to grab a broom as you are to run a meeting).
Supplies & Equipment: Keep track of fuel, uniforms, cleaning supplies, tech gear, and anything else needed to keep cruises rolling. Supply and inventory goods for sale on vessels.
Scheduling & Communication: Be the main bridge between office, dock, and crew. Make sure everyone knows what’s going on.
Events Responsibilities:
Seasonal & Special Cruises: Plan and execute events like Canada Day cruises, Thanksgiving rides, sunset socials, or private bookings, corporate events, weddings.
Vendor Coordination: Book musicians, photographers, caterers, or decorators when needed.
Marketing Input: Work with the marketing team to promote events — provide details, photos, or help create the vibe on our digital media assets.
Guest Experience: Tailor events to match the magic of Muskoka
Day-Of Management: Be on-site during events to coordinate staff, handle hiccups, and keep the vibe high.
Traits of a Great Fit:
Thinks on their feet (and maybe on a dock).
Calm under pressure — can solve a broken mic and a crying toddler at the same time.
Flexible and hands-on — not afraid to roll up sleeves.
Understands that operations and events go hand-in-hand: a smooth day is an event, and an event needs smooth operations.
Loves Muskoka and wants to help others fall in love with it, too.
