The Country Management Team in India is seeking to recruit a Operations Assistant to support in supervision and management of IFC's investment portfolio, transaction processing, business reporting and regulatory compliance.
This position is based in New Delhi, India, and the incumbent will be an integral member of the Country Management Team working under the oversight of the Country Manager based in New Delhi.
Role & Responsibilities:
• Provide procedural, administrative and analytical support to CMU on IFC portfolio to maintain regulatory compliance and for presentation of IFC program and strategy.
• Using internal systems and data gathered from operational teams, track and analyze pipeline and portfolio processes. Identify critical path and action items.
• Track market pricing information, including government securities and public sources.
• Extract data from IFC’s management information systems and produce simple analytical reports; Use Research databases to prepare background reports on companies, including ownership, financial performance, share prices, etc.
• Prepare briefing notes with text, tables, graphs, charts, including well-presented power point slides.
• Ensure the complete, accurate and timely filing of all relevant documents internally and with government in project approval processing.
• Working with CMU and global IFC departments, detailed tracking of portfolio projects, disbursement, and transaction characteristics to complete and monitor regulatory compliance.
• Schedule and take minutes of calls and meetings related to CMU matters; maintain high quality written and oral communication with regional and industry staff, external custodian bank; properly disseminate documents within and outside the Corporation.
Selection Criteria
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Commerce, Accounting or Economics.
• Minimum of 2 years’ relevant work experience in finance, banking or portfolio management in a major financial institution.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills with proven ability to work promptly and efficiently under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Sound numerical, analytical and conceptual skills, including prior exposure to analysis of economic data or financial statements; Demonstrated attention to detail and precision in analysis and presentation.
• Prior experience in interacting with mid-level technical/managerial counterparts at financial institutions or medium/larger sized companies.
• Demonstrated experience in extracting portfolio and client data from internal corporate databases.
• Strong skills in Excel including lookup and reference functions, advanced charting, conditional formatting, dashboards, analytical data tables, and in Power Point including knowledge of design views, outlines, slide transitions, background designs, customization, text & object enhancement, animation, slide show management.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills - demonstrated ability to communicate succinctly, clearly and persuasively.
• Ability to think independently, analyze problems and identify appropriate solutions.
• Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to work with people at all levels (inside and outside IFC) with demonstrated team spirit and responsiveness.
