Collaborate broadly across the Transmission System Operator. Analyse needs and the required capability to support delivery of strategic outcomes!

Transpower's purpose is to empower the energy future for New Zealand - a future that delivers a net-zero carbon economy and a reliable and secure electricity system.

About the team

The group plays an essential role in proactively identifying the critical capabilities, skills, resources, and support needed to meet current and future operational needs. They are working to optimise planning and investment decisions across key tools and processes (including SCADA applications, market systems, real time systems, and real time asset management technologies) utilised by our control rooms and other areas of Transpower.

The OPTI Capability and Capital Planning team creates and maintains a relevant capability model and the assessment of the maturity level for Operations agreed by the Senior Leadership Team (SLT). The team maintains the capability roadmap, a forward looking workplan across Operations, working closely with our information Services and Technology division, to have a joined-up investment plan to deliver the long-term business outcomes for the division.

The opportunity

You'll also contribute to ongoing delivery and improvement of operational performance.

Understanding of business architecture and process architecture.
Demonstrated ability to plan and schedule portfolios of work across multiple stakeholders and groups.
Outstanding written and verbal communication and relationship management skills.
A commitment to delivering high-quality products/services and continuous improvement.
A relevant tertiary qualification and/or equivalent experience.
While not essential, familiarity with EPRI Utility Business Capability model would be an advantage.
