About the Role



Reporting to the Executive Director Operations and Chief Nursing Officer, this role requires effective leadership, stakeholder engagement, and a commitment to excellence in patient care and education.


This role will oversee the strategic and operational management of:


Emergency Department – partnering with the Clinical Director to facilitate timely emergency care and meet access performance targets.
Aboriginal Health – working collaboratively across the hospital, with our Mirring Ba Wirring Team and Aboriginal Health Controlled Organisations to close the healthcare gap.
Clinical Education – leadership oversight of clinical education. The Manager Nursing Education reports to this role.
External Contracted Diagnostic Services – managing contracts for Pathology and Diagnostic Imaging, ensuring service quality and compliance.
Emergency Management – providing oversight and support for training and process improvement.

You are an accomplished healthcare leader with the ability to manage complex clinical operations and drive positive outcomes. To succeed in this role, you will bring:


Essential Qualifications:


Tertiary qualifications at Master level or equivalent, preferably in healthcare administration, business management, or a related field and relevant clinical qualifications.


Experience:

Demonstrated ability to lead and manage multidisciplinary teams.
Relevant clinical experience
Ability to collaborate, influence others, and manage change processes in a complex environment.
Demonstrated experience working in a similar senior leadership role with a good understanding of the Victorian public hospital system.
Demonstrated ability in operational management, including experience in developing, managing and reporting operational budgets, KPI performance and contractual arrangements.
Proven ability to develop, build, and maintain effective relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders.

Competencies:

Highly developed communication, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
Ability to analyse, interpret and report on information, and provide clear recommendations, and act decisively.
High level of computer literacy, including MS Word and Excel.
Ability to collect, interpret, and report service activity, performance, and financial data.
