Location : India
Operational Tax is part of Margin Treasury and Tax Operations and is responsible for managing and supporting all operational tax processes for Deutsche Bank AG and associated entities.
The Tax operations team is comprised of multiple sub processes 1) Financial Transaction Tax 2) Cost Basis 3) Derivative Tax 4) Stamp Tax 5) FATCA 6) Tax Reclaims 7) Withholding Tax Compliances.
The Operational Tax processes are responsible for ensuring timely compliances in terms of payments and reporting various tax types;
filing, tracking, monitoring, processing of tax reclaims.
The processes deal with tax reconciliations, calculations, payments, regulatory reporting and answering the queries from regulators and stakeholders if any.
Also, obtaining refunds from the Tax Authorities / Depositories, reconciliation of funds received from the authorities and applying the refunds to beneficiaries.

Your key responsibilities
Managing the day-to-day processing / deliverables for operational tax processes like Financial Transaction Tax, Withholding Tax, Stamp Tax and Transfer Fees Reconciliation etc.
for the businesses / regions supported by Operational Tax including the reporting, payment and reconciliations
• Ensure that there are no misses in any of the internal / external or regulatory deadlines,
• All the relevant Key Processing Indicators are achieved and delivered as agreed.
• Filing tax returns, Tax reporting, tax payments and tax audits.
• Managing tax reclaims. The activities include managing of Client tax reclaim process and procuring of right level of documentation to ensure treaty tax rates are applied accurately.
The activities also include the responsibility of filing tax returns, tax reporting and tax audits.
• Work with ownership independently / under supervision of the senior tax team member for FATCA, CRS, 10++, 1042S and other tax compliance for entities across APAC, EMEA and US region.
• Knowledge of Equities Trade Life cycle, Reconciliation of Nostro and internal accounts, Exposure to back-office systems and Reconciliation systems like TLM, Knowledge of Trade, Dividend income corporate actions, settlements and Securities lending along with different types of reclaims forms, statutes etc.

• Review the processes undertaken within the team and redevelop and redesign where cost savings / efficiencies can be made
• Drive regulatory changes in partnership with IT and Business within operations.
• Interpretation of amendments to the existing rules and regulations pertaining to the relevant tax.
• Mange the Monthly / Annual reporting and relevant payment processes to the regulators
• Ensure all client (internal and external) queries are dealt with in a timely and effective manner. Experience of directly dealing with Clients would be an added benefit
• Produce Tax MIS and maintain full audit trails
• Governance of the tasks associated with German reclaims within operational tax processes.
• Advise on the right level of documentation and tax rates to be applied per country / counterparty status
• Experience of preparing Tax vouchers and Tax reclaim forms
• Manage the Tax Process for all businesses supported by Operational Tax
• Ensure all client (internal and external) queries are dealt with in a timely and effective manner
• Ensure continuous maintenance of Tax data on back office systems
• Produce Tax MIS and maintain full audit trails
• Review the processes undertaken within the team and redevelop and redesign where cost savings / efficiencies can be made
Your skills and experience
• CA / MBA with 10-15 years of prior working experience
• Area of Expertise : Accounts, Taxation, Finance, Reconciliation
• The candidate should be well versed with the various Tax regulations and have the ability to understand the various aspects and concepts of taxes like Financial Transaction Tax, Stamp Tax, Withholding Tax, Reclaims filing, Reporting, and Payments etc.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of Operational Taxes Transaction Tax, Stamp Taxes, Withholding Tax, Tax reclaim concepts
• Experience of managing client / Firm reclaims, Relief at source and certification process. Manage and track process of outstanding tax reclaims including forms received / expired
• Strong time management, organizational, planning and follow-up skills; ability to multi-task effectively
• Ability to prioritize competing demands
• Tax Reclaims, Substantiation, MIS Payments.
