ABOUT THE ORGANISATION
We are a growing, IRDAI-regulated insurance intermediary committed to delivering best-in-class insurance
solutions across Life, General, and Health segments. With a customer-first approach and a compliance-driven culture, we are now looking to strengthen our leadership team with a seasoned Operations Head who can drive scale, governance, and operational excellence across our business.
THE ROLE
We are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Operations Head to lead, manage, and
scale our insurance operations function. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise across Life,
General, and Health insurance, has held a Principal Officer or equivalent leadership role in an IMF,
Broking house, or similar IRDAI-regulated entity, and possesses a strong command of regulatory
compliance, underwriting guidelines, and operational governance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIESKEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Own end-to-end insurance operations — policy issuance, endorsements, renewals, and claims processing — ensuring accuracy and timeliness across all lines
• Ensure full regulatory compliance with IRDAI regulations, circulars, and applicable guidelines at all times
• Function as or support the Principal Officer in the company's IRDAI-regulated capacity, ensuring the IMF / Broking license obligations are met
• Develop, implement, and continuously improve operational policies, SOPs, and internal controls
• Apply expertise in financial and medical underwriting guidelines to evaluate and process cases accurately
• Liaise with insurance company partners for policy issuance, underwriting decisions, and operational escalations
• Monitor and manage risk exposure across the portfolio in coordination with insurer partners
• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of operations professionals, driving performance, accountability, and
capability development
• Define team KPIs, monitor output quality, and build a culture of precision and compliance within the
operations function
Collaborate with sales, distribution, finance, and senior leadership to drive business objectives and resolve
operational bottlenecks
• Leverage software tools and dashboards for accurate reporting, MIS, and data-driven decision-making
• Present operational performance, compliance updates, and risk summaries to management on a regular basis
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Must Have
• Minimum 10 years of experience in insurance (Life, General, Health — ideally all three)
• Principal Officer experience in an IMF, Insurance Broking firm, or equivalent IRDAI - regulated entity
• Valid IRDAI certification or demonstrated regulatory knowledge
• Strong command of financial and medical underwriting guidelines
• Proven track record in managing operations teams (minimum 2–3 direct reports)
• Proficiency in Excel and insurance-specific software/platforms for MIS and reporting
• Exceptional leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills
