Overview:

As a Data Entry Clerk, you will play a crucial role in accurately inputting and capturing negotiable instruments and deposit details into various systems and applications. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the integrity and correctness of data by performing thorough verification and validation activities. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining records, filling necessary documents, and processing unpaid instruments for return to customers or depositing branches. Attention to detail, precision, and efficiency are essential for success in this role.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Data Entry/Inputting/Capturing:
• Enter negotiable instruments and deposit details into the core system and allied applications accurately and efficiently.
• Ensure timely completion of data entry tasks to meet operational requirements.
• Report Generation:
• Generate reports as required by extracting data from systems and applications.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of reports by verifying data against deposit/challan/instruments/electronic records.
• Verification and Validation:
• Perform call-back activities to verify the correctness of entries and reconcile any discrepancies.
• Verify reports with deposit, challan, instruments, and electronic data to ensure data integrity.
• Record Maintenance:
• File and maintain records, supporting statements, vouchers, and requisite negotiable instruments systematically.
• Ensure proper organization and accessibility of records for reference and audit purposes.
• Processing of Unpaid Instruments:
• Process and dispatch return unpaid instruments to customers or depositing branches promptly and accurately.
• Follow established procedures and guidelines for handling unpaid instruments and associated documentation.

Additional Responsibilities:
• Sorting and Stamping:
• Sort negotiable instruments based on predefined criteria.
• Stamp instruments as per regulatory requirements or organizational policies.

Qualifications and Skills:
• Data Entry Skills: Proficient in data entry, typing, and numeric key entry with a high level of accuracy.
• Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accurate and error-free data entry and verification.
• Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills to manage records, documents, and files effectively.
• Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time efficiently, and meet deadlines consistently.
• Communication Skills: Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and convey information accurately.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify issues, troubleshoot problems, and propose solutions independently or collaboratively.
• Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities, workload fluctuations, and evolving job requirements.
• Computer Literacy: Proficiency in using computer systems, applications, and software relevant to data entry and record maintenance.
