Our office is currently seeking an enthusiastic and energetic Ophthalmic Technician to join our team in our newly designed office. The Ophthalmic Technician will be responsible for the following duties but not limited to:
Administering and recording ophthalmic testing to ensure accurate patient assessments (Tonometry, OCT, Visual Fields, IOL Master, Corneal Topography, Lensometry, Refraction, Pupil Assessment and other ancillary testing)
Administering ophthalmic medications such as eye drops
Accurately documenting ophthalmology examination findings in patient medical records
Addressing and documenting patient inquiries and concerns in a timely manner
Completing and submitting necessary patient documents and forms
Preparing correspondence via fax, mail or through e-mail
Maintaining cleanliness and sanitization of medical equipment and office space
Ensuring medical and office supplies are readily available
Performing reception duties as required
Qualifications
Experience in an eye care environment or medical office
High attention to detail and proven ability to handle confidential information
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook and Excel)
Strong oral and written communication skills
Ability to work Saturdays if and when required
Experience using Accuro program is an asset
Certification in one of the following programs is considered an asset but not required (Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT), Certified Ophthalmic Medical Technologist (COMT), Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) or Optometric Assistant)
