Optical Assistant/Dispenser - Full Time Position

McLaren Vale Eyecare is seeking a dedicated Optical Assistant/Dispenser to join our friendly team. We're a full-service optical centre devoted to creating high quality eyewear and delivering the ultimate customer service experience from the moment patients walk through our door.

Full-time commitment - Monday to Friday
Optical experience preferred but not essential, Health related background welcomed - we value transferable skills
Someone who takes pride in helping patients find eyewear they'll "fall in love with"
Detail oriented individual with excellent customer service skills
Passion for using the latest technology to enhance patient care
The Role:
As our Optical Assistant/Dispenser, your daily responsibilities will include:
Patient Care: Helping patients select from our range of designer frames and explaining how different lenses will impact their vision
Dispensing Services: Frame fitting, adjustments, and ensuring optimal comfort and vision
Administrative Tasks: Managing appointment bookings, patient records, and follow-up communications
Computer Systems: Using practice management software for scheduling, billing, and maintaining accurate patient databases
Reception Duties: Greeting patients, handling phone inquiries, and managing day-to-day front desk operations
Insurance Processing: Handling Medicare claims and health fund rebates
Inventory Management: Assisting with frame displays, stock monitoring, and ordering
Supporting our Optometrist: Preparing patients for consultations and assisting with clinical administration
