Optimization Program Manager,, ACES

Job Description

DESCRIPTION
Amazon Customer Excellence Systems (ACES) is seeking a Program Manager to drive multi-year optimization programs across All Miles AU Operations — spanning First Mile, Middle Mile, and Last Mile. This is a high-impact, cross-functional leadership role at the heart of Amazon Australia's operational transformation.

As an ACES All Miles Program Manager, you will serve as the strategic nerve center for AU Operations — translating complex 3-year forecasts and annual operating plans into actionable, measurable programs that drive productivity, cost efficiency, and customer experience improvements across the entire fulfilment and delivery network.

You will own the design, planning, and delivery of multi-year strategic programs that cut across First Mile FCs, Middle Mile transportation, and Last Mile delivery operations. You will partner with operations leadership, finance, supply chain, and technology teams to define the path forward on our most critical network challenges — from automation and capacity expansion to speed cycle optimization and channel strategy.

Key job responsibilities
What You'll Do

You will lead the end-to-end lifecycle of strategic programs — from problem definition and business case development through to execution, change management, and post-implementation review. Your work will span:

Strategic Planning & Program Ownership: Scoping and owning multi-year programs aligned to AU's planning cycles. Translating network strategy into structured program roadmaps with clear milestones, owners, and success metrics. Partnering with ACES leadership to define and prioritize the top strategic initiatives across all miles.

Cross-Mile Optimization: Driving end-to-end productivity and cost improvements across First Mile, Middle Mile, and Last Mile operations. Identifying synergies across miles and building programs that unlock disruptive, network-wide improvements.

Stakeholder Management & Communication: Building and maintaining strong relationships with operations, finance, supply chain, technology, and channel partner teams. Creating effective communication plans that provide visibility to all impacted teams. Facilitating alignment across a complex, multi-functional stakeholder landscape.

Change Management: Leading structured change management for major operational programs, ensuring adoption and sustainability of new processes, tools, and ways of working. Partnering with the ACES Change Management stream to embed best practices across the organization.

What We're Looking For

You bring a rare combination of strategic thinking and operational credibility. You are comfortable operating at the intersection of long-term planning and day-to-day execution, and you know how to drive alignment across large, complex organizations without direct authority.

You have demonstrated experience managing multi-year, cross-functional programs in a fast-paced logistics, supply chain, or operations environment. You are a strong communicator who can distil complex problems into clear narratives for senior leaders, and you are equally comfortable rolling up your sleeves to drive execution at the ground level.

Experience across more than one operational mile (First, Middle, or Last Mile) is highly valued. Familiarity with Amazon's planning mechanisms or equivalent strategic planning cycles is a strong advantage.

Scope & Working Arrangements

This role covers all miles of AU Operations — First Mile FCs, Middle Mile transportation and sort, and Last Mile delivery stations — with a national scope across Australia's top metro markets (Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide). The role requires travel within Australia and may involve working across non-traditional shift patterns, including nights and weekends, to support operational programs

About the team
The AU Operational Excellence team provides end-to-end leadership across all miles of Amazon Australia's operations, with a mandate to drive continuous improvement, network reliability, and operational capability at scale. The team brings together a broad set of disciplines — capital project management, routing optimization, learning and development, business analytics, quality management, variance reduction, and ACES planning — under a single organizational umbrella.

The OE team partners across the full AU operations ecosystem, including First Mile FCs, Middle Mile transportation and sort, Last Mile delivery stations, channel partners, and 3P networks. Its work spans both strategic horizon-setting and day-to-day operational support, ensuring that AU Operations can absorb growth, adopt new technologies, and consistently deliver for customers as the network scales.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
5+ years of program or project management experience
Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
2+ years of driving process improvements experience
Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field
