• Operate and maintain ophthalmic equipment, such as autorefractors and tonometers.
• Prepare patients for eye tests by explaining procedures and taking medical histories.
• Perform preliminary eye assessments, including measuring visual acuity and intraocular pressure.
• Assist in fitting and adjusting eyeglasses and contact lenses.
• Maintain accurate patient records and update electronic health systems.
• Educate patients on eye care, contact lens usage, and post-exam instructions.
• Ensure the cleanliness and sterilization of ophthalmic instruments.
• Manage inventory of optical supplies and assist in ordering necessary equipment.
• Adhere to healthcare regulations, safety protocols, and ethical standards in optometric practice.
