Job Description
Responsibilities • Install and Upgrade Oracle database, Oracle Grid software and also apply patches as required. • Perform regular health check of all production databases at Cluster level, instance level, ASM level and take appropriate action in case of any threshold value is reached. • Monitor and tune the performance of Oracle database ongoing basis • User management, create user, privileges and roles as required • Create and implement the backup policy as per client’s requirement • Perform housekeeping activities such as purging of trace files, log files and dump files • Adept at taking backups and restoring the same as and when required using RMAN • Need to configure data guard and troubleshoot standby sync issues/log sequence gap issues
• Should be ready to work in 24x7 production support model and in shifts on rotational basis • Proactively monitor the production systems for any performance issues • Define and implement user security policy as per requirement and enable audit as required • Assist developers in performance tuning and troubleshooting of issues wherever required • To create, drop and monitor ASM disks, disk groups as a part of support activities • Should have worked on Oracle security features like TDE, Oracle Database vault and auditing • Should have good hands-on experience on Unix/Linux shell scripting for automation • Should have participated in mock DR drills • Should have good communication skills for coordinating with other teams and Client
