Notice Period: - Immediate to 30 Days

Job description
Responsibilities:
· Work as a member of geographically distributed DBA team, supporting multiple data centers around the world.
· Assist the team lead with the design and implementation of new enterprise systems
· Provide expert knowledge and support for Oracle 11gR2, 12c, 1+c Grid Infrastructure and RAC
· Maintain database backups using RMAN and support RMAN repository
· Review, evaluate, develop, document, implement, and maintain databases
· Administer and support Oracle Text constructs
· Participate in on-call rotations and provide weekend and off-hours support.
· Perform proactive database monitoring using OEM/Cloud Control
· Patch/upgrade Oracle environments as required
· Provide expert PL-SQL knowledge and support a team of developers in the development of stored procedures, triggers, functions, and other advanced constructs
· Monitor databases to ensure optimal performance, acting quickly to mitigate issues
· Perform schema and database level database recoveries of multiple terabyte databases
· Take complete ownership of the projects assigned, contribute to the overall success of the project and escalate to the team lead, if necessary.
· Adherence to industry best-practices, company standards, policies and procedures.
· Design and configure servers for Disaster Recovery (DR) and business continuity.
· Work effectively with end users to perform thorough analysis of business operations and procedures with an eye towards efficiency and productivity.
· Assist with fine tuning of large, multi-terabyte databases in a SAAS environment.
· Recommend, develop, document, and enforce Oracle best practices, including disaster recovery
· Provide detailed technical support for all databases; identify and analyze queries and stored procedures for optimization
· Perform shell scripting as needed
· Identify, review and optimize poorly written queries.
· Review, identify and automate repeatable processes.
· Follow ITIL best practices including change, incident and problem management.
· Assist with audits and certification and maintain compliance with requirements.
Qualifications:
· Degree in one of the following subject areas: Computer Science, Business Administration, Information Technology/
· 8+ years IT operation with a strong understanding of database structures, RDBMS concepts, theories, principles, and practices
· 8+ years Oracle database administration experience, preferably in a hosting and/or corporate 24x7 highly available environment.
· Solid understanding of best practices for Oracle administration.
· Relevant knowledge of computer hardware including servers, networks, SANs and RAID configurations.
