The Role:
You'll be part of our Database Administration team at Kyndryl, where you'll master managing and administering the backbone of our technological infrastructure.
Your expertise will shape the system's definition, structure and documentation to ensure long-term success. You'll configure, install and maintain database management systems, ensuring peak performance.
You'll manage user access, implement top security standards to protect valuable data from unauthorized access, and develop strong backup and recovery plans to safeguard against failures.
You'll support end users and application developers in solving complex problems related to database systems, implementing policies and procedures to safeguard data from external threats.
You'll conduct capacity planning and growth projections based on usage, ensuring scalability to meet business needs.
You'll work closely with teams to coordinate systematic database project plans that align with organizational goals. Your contributions will enable us to deliver world-class services to our customers.
Essential Roles & Responsibilities:
- Define, implement and support database backup and recovery policies using RMAN.
- Working knowledge of ITIL processes.
- Perform database restoration and recovery in the event of a failure.
- Experience with Aix, Solaris and Linux (RHEL), supporting large numbers of Oracle databases.
- Production environments on Unix, Windows and Linux OS.
- Installation and troubleshooting in RAC and Grid.
- Lifecycle Management - Database creation, setup & decommissioning. Event/alert monitoring, space management, user management.
- Database monitoring.
- Replication via Golden gate and Data Guard. Adapted for 24x7 Shift Support.
- Excellent spoken and written English communication.
- Good attitude towards corporate environment.
- Hands-on experience in Operations and Support of Oracle RDBMS 11g, 12c and 1+C.
- Provide 24x7 Support.
- Coordinate with IT stakeholders to fix issues.
- Participate in internal/external audits to showcase IT compliance status.
- Perform IT-related tasks and update higher management regularly.
- Participate in Day/Weekly status review meetings.
Who You Are:
Required Professional and Technical Expertise:
- A minimum of 6+ years of overall experience in IT Database Domain with proven experience in Oracle Database Operations.
- Client Meetings, External Audit, Database Installation, Database Environment, Database, Oracle, Mysql & Postgres Administration.
- Performing Database Administration tasks independently in Oracle 10g, 11g, 12c and 1+c.
- Db Upgrades, migrations and cloning.
- Backup, restore & recovery using Datapump or RMAN.
- Database server administration (Oracle, MYSQL, Postgres) and team management.
- Good communication skills, participate in client meetings.
- Handle regular day-to-day IT Infra operations.
- Installation of Oracle, MYSQL & Postgres, Applications and break fixing of H/W and S/W issues.
- Working on Service Desk tickets.
Preferred Professional and Technical Expertise:
- BE/BTech/MCA/Diploma.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Experience in Operating Systems tuning and configurations.
