Technical and Managerial Rounds
30 Minutes/candidate
Role: Oracle DBA
Experience: 3 - 10 years
Location: Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Bengaluru
Work From Office
Desired Competencies (Technical/Behavioral Competency):
• Supporting several Oracle RAC databases.
• Implement/ deploy changes to various databases for ongoing projects.
• Load data from/to various databases.
• Providing on-call support taking turns along with other DBAs.
• Addressing SQL, PL/SQL, and database performance and unix scripting issues.
• Developing SQL, PL/SQL codes and unix scripts as needed.
• Taking snapshot of production databases and applying it to Development, Test and UAT environments using transportable tablespace method.
• Creating Users, Groups, Roles, Profiles and assigned users to groups and granted Privileges and permissions to appropriate groups.
• Managing Database Structure, Storage Allocation Table/Index segments, Rollback Segments, Undo Segments, and Constraints.
• Using RMAN and Datapump utilities for backup purpose.
• Must have a strong work ethic. Work well independently and with a team.
• Must have Positive attitude and good interpersonal skills.
• Must be self-motivated and a self-starter.
• Must be able to work/provide off-hours to support teams when needed.
Performing all run activities in respect of the processes, ensuring:
– SLA and priorities are respected
– Appropriate reaction, in line with the severity of an incident or escalation.
– ITIL process are dully followed
– Troubleshooting is performed and a full root cause analysis is performed to understand the origin of an issue
• Handling escalation on actions from Production Engineers Level 1 (incident, request, change)
– Escalates to your Service Manager when needed
– Collaborate between various teams
• Continuous improvement of service
– Propose improvement and solution to reduce repetitive tasks
• Managing knowledge within the team
– Share the knowledge within AS teams
– Liaise with development and support teams to grab more knowledge
– Controls that Knowledge database is regularly updated
• Driving the most complex operations & ensures they are well prepared (involvement on DRP test, WIP, etc…).
– Act as global coordinator main events.
– Review of major releases roadmaps
– Ensure post checks are documented, performed and report is shared
As L2 production Engineer, expected to work in shifted time, with rotation
