• Job Summary:
• Key Responsibilities:
- Database Administration: Install, configure, and maintain Oracle database environments (Oracle 11g, 12c, 1+c, or higher), including both on-premise and cloud-based databases.
- Backup & Recovery: Implement and manage database backup and recovery solutions using RMAN, Data Pump, and other Oracle tools. Develop and test disaster recovery plans.
- Performance Tuning: Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and tune databases for optimal efficiency, ensuring high availability and scalability.
- Security & Compliance: Implement Oracle database security measures including user management, role-based access control (RBAC), and data encryption to comply with organizational and regulatory standards.
- Database Upgrades & Patch Management: Plan and perform database upgrades, patches, and migrations as needed, ensuring mínimal downtime and optimal performance.
- Monitoring & Alerts: Use Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) or similar tools to monitor and manage database environments, set up alerts, and resolve issues proactively.
- Capacity Planning: Analyze database storage needs and perform capacity planning to ensure the database environment meets future business needs.
- SQL Optimization: Work closely with developers to review SQL queries, optimize database objects, and improve query performance.
- Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for database procedures, configurations, and guidelines.
• Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience:
- 5+ years of experience as an Oracle DBA in enterprise environments.
- Proficient in Oracle database versions (11g, 12c, 1+c).
- Experience with Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) and Data Guard for high availability and disaster recovery.
- Strong experience in backup, recovery, performance tuning, and database monitoring.
- Hands-on experience with Oracle ASM, RMAN, OEM, and SQL tuning.
- Skills:
- Expertise in database security, user management, and role-based access control (RBAC).
- Proficiency in Unix/Linux environments, including shell scripting for automation.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) or other cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
- Experience with PL/SQL programming and automation using scripts.
- Oracle DBA certification (OCP or OCA).
- Experience with GoldenGate or other data replication tools.
