Provide End to end-to-end development solutions to one of the largest investment banking products by scaling up the latest technology stack by adopting the cloud-based services under the Payment Settlement Services Platform.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will play an important role in delivering change in OTC Rates/Credit Clearing and rates Prime Brokerage.
As a Java/Oracle Engineer, this person will be responsible for delivering new/incremental functionality to technology platforms underpinning the business, both driven through mandated/regulatory CCP activity and internal or client business requirements.
The main application technologies currently include Core Java for application and proprietary ETL components, Oracle for data storage, and MQ, SFTP, and REST APIs for messaging/feeds using JSON and other notations including FPML.
Skills
Must have
• 5+ years experience as an Oracle/Java Developer in an Investment Banking and/or Retail Finance environment.
• Extensive experience in complex infrastructure and enterprise software platform development.
• Excellent SQL knowledge.
• Excellent Unix/Linux knowledge and hands-on experience.
• Experience implementing fault-tolerant / load-balancing solutions
• Understanding of networking and messaging.
• Demonstrable experience and knowledge in OTC (Credit and Rates) Derivative products (+ Other Derivatives Products - Listed, FX advantageous)
• Working knowledge of OTC Clearing from a House and Clearing Broker perspective and Fixed Income Prime Brokerage
• Experience in conceptualization and solution definition
• Adaptable (depending on the project) to Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid SDLC models
• Attention to detail, ability to work with deadlines
• Strong problem-solving and analysis skills (an Engineering mindset)
• Proactive, delivery orientated approach
• Ability to take direction as needed as well as being able to work independently
