Organic Social, Events and Communications Manager

💰 $4,200 - $6,720 (Est.) 📍 Sydney

Job Description

Dogs, cats, budgies and everything in between - pets deserve the world. They make us want to be better humans. That’s why we’ve made it our mission to build the most engaged and passionate community of pets and pet parents across the world. And we’re looking for talented team mates who can help us do it.

Founded in Sydney, our team of 500+ pet obsessives span Australia, New Zealand and the Philippines. We’ve scaled to become one of Australia's top five eComm companies and the no.1 online pet store. But we’re just getting started. Like a whippet who’s spotted their mate across the dog park, our growth is only going to accelerate, as we continue to disrupt the way that pet parents shop.

Excitingly, the pet industry is booming (as in $15 billion kind of booming) and online pet retail is set to grow exponentially in the next five years. So this is a unique career opportunity to be part of our epic growth story.

The opportunity

12-month maternity leave contract.

Our Brand and Creative team is a dynamic group of strategists, designers, and storytellers working to elevate the shopping experience for pet families across Australia. We build brands and campaigns that spark joy, earn trust, and create lasting connections between pet parents and Pet Circle.

We’re on the lookout for a passionate and highly creative Organic Social, Events and Communications Manager to join our in-house team on a 12-month maternity leave contract. This role is key to bringing our brand to life by helping Pet Circle become the most loved and trusted voice in the pet industry.

You’ll lead the execution of our organic social strategy, manage influencer relationships, bring our brand into the real world through events and activations, and work with our PR agency to build earned media visibility. You’ll also play a central role in delivering integrated brand campaigns alongside our VP of Brand & Communications and the wider brand leadership team.

This is a high-impact role at the intersection of storytelling, strategy, and campaign delivery, perfect for someone who lives and breathes social content, thrives in a fast-paced creative team, and has a nose for what gets people talking.

What you’ll be doing

Own and evolve Pet Circle’s social media strategy across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Pinterest, LinkedIn, and YouTube
Lead the influencer and creator program, including macro collaborations, always-on gifting, and community engagement
Launch a new product gifting program
Manage Pet Circle events and brand activations, from trade shows and PR stunts to pet community experiences
Identify and work with key brand and charity partners to build integrated campaigns with strong social and earned outcomes
Manage content planning and production — from filming and editing to working with our internal creative team to deliver made-for-platform content
Maintain a forward-looking social content calendar, scheduling and publishing content aligned to campaign goals
Lead monthly performance reporting across social, influencer, and PR, surfacing actionable insights to guide future work
Work with our PR agency and VP Brand & Communications to brief in earned media opportunities, drive positive press, and manage reactive comms
Own budgets and performance targets across organic social, influencer, events, and communications
The ideal toolbox

5+ years experience in-house or in an agency environment, ideally working with retail or ecommerce brands
Proven ability to build and manage social accounts, with a clear understanding of what drives engagement across platforms
A strong creative eye and excellent copywriting skills, with a natural flair for crafting platform-native content that connects
Confident both behind and in front of the camera, you're comfortable being a visible part of Pet Circle’s brand voice
Hands-on experience managing events and activations, from concept through to delivery, including liaising directly with suppliers
Highly organised and detail-oriented, with the project management skills to juggle multiple workstreams and shifting priorities
A data-driven mindset, with experience analysing performance metrics and applying insights to optimise content and campaign strategies
A collaborative team player who brings positive energy, creativity, and curiosity to cross-functional work
A deep passion for pets and pet parents, and a desire to create meaningful brand experiences that make tails wag
