Organisational Development Advisor

💰 $3,800 - $6,080 (Est.) 📍 Dunedin

Job Description

Full job description
The Dunedin City Council (DCC) takes great pride in delivering a broad range of services to the communities of this unique and fascinating city. From our roads to recycling, public libraries and pools, water supply to walking tracks, and everything in between, DCC's people are talented and committed to serving their city.

We're looking for a passionate OD Advisor to help us build a modern, inclusive, and values-led workplace. In this role, you'll design and deliver initiatives that strengthen our culture, boost engagement, and support leadership and performance across DCC.

You'll work closely with teams across the organisation to identify opportunities, co-create solutions, and bring them to life — all while being part of a team that's serious about impact and connection.

About the Role

This is a permanent role, based in Dunedin. You'll:

Develop and deliver OD and L&D initiatives that support our people to grow and succeed
Collaborate with business groups to embed change and drive engagement
Support planning, coordination, and logistics across OD programmes
Contribute to projects that improve leadership, performance, and culture
Facilitate sessions and workshops as part of end-to-end project delivery
Research, diagnose, and design fit-for-purpose solutions with the support of the OD team
About You

You might already be working in OD, or you may bring experience in research, analysis, or other areas of People & Capability. Either way, you're ready to use your skills and make a difference.

You'll bring:

Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
Strong stakeholder engagement across all levels
Experience in developing and implementing organisational interventions
Knowledge of research and analysis practices
Experience designing learning solutions that meet real needs
Confidence using digital tools — and ideally some exposure to AI
Project management skills and a collaborative mindset
Why Join Us?

This is an exciting time to be part of the DCC People & Capability team. You'll work on meaningful projects, be supported by a connected and inclusive culture, and help shape the future of our people experience.

Permanent, full time (37.5 hrs pw) opportunity
5 weeks annual leave + additional long service leave after qualifying periods
Parental leave benefits, including paid partner's leave
Superannuation (after 6 months of service) + free annual flu vaccinations and eye checks every 2 years
Supportive team environment
More information of our benefits can be found here DCC careers | Benefits
