Kind Support is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Orthopaedic Scrub Nurse to join the team at a luxury private hospital in London.
The successful candidate will join the well-established team at the prestigious Hospital, working with the vision of delivering excellence in care.
With 3 state of the art Theatres, two of which are equipped with laminar airflow technology which gives extra prevention against the risk of airborne contamination and surgical site infections. Specialising in Gynecology, Orthopaedics, General Surgery, Urology, Dental, Maxillio Facial, Colorectal, Ophthalmic, ENT, Plastic & Endoscopy surgeries.
The Orthopaedic Scrub Nurse will be responsible for assisting in orthopaedic surgeries by preparing and maintaining surgical equipment and instruments, setting up the operating room, and ensuring the safety and comfort of patients.
The successful candidate must have excellent communication skills, be able to work well in a team, and possess knowledge of surgical procedures and instruments.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare and maintain surgical equipment and instruments
• Assist in setting up the operating room and ensuring that it is sterile and safe for surgery
• Scrub for orthopaedic surgeries, ensuring that all equipment and instruments are correctly prepared and used
• Pass instruments and equipment to the surgeon during surgery
• Maintain accurate records of surgical procedures and patient care
• Assist in the preparation and positioning of the patient for surgery
• Monitor the patient’s vital signs and ensure their safety and comfort throughout the surgical procedure
• Assist in the cleaning and sterilisation of surgical equipment and instruments
• Adhere to infection control policies and procedures
• Participate in continuous professional development to maintain knowledge and skills
Qualifications and Skills:
• NMC Registration
• Minimum of 1 year of experience working as a scrub nurse in orthopaedic surgery
• Excellent knowledge of surgical procedures and instruments
• Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team
• Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
• Knowledge of infection control policies and procedures
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment
• Willingness to work flexible hours and participate in on-call rotations
