Job Description
1. Primarily responsible for preparing the operating room by setting up the equipment and sterilizing tools that are necessary for the operation
2. Ensure all equipments are working properly which may involve the assembling of some materials/ instruments.
3. Prepare the patient for surgery by washing, shaving and disinfecting areas for operation.
4. Assist the surgical team in dressing for the surgery and overall functions in the OT.
5. Be familiar with retractors, cut sutures, sponges, needles, supplies and other sterilized instruments and passing instruments and supplies to the Surgeon during the surgery.
6. To practice safety measures, adhere to NABH guidelines, bio-medical waste guidelines and OT related SOPs.
7. Responsible for transporting the patient back to the recovery room, assist in assuring patient’s comfort.
8. Cleaning the instruments, OT table and all other equipments used during the surgery.
