Financial Analyst – Credit Risk
Candidates for the job should possess strong critical thinking skills and have a demonstrable ability to perform financial analysis of a corporate entity. The candidate must be proactive, team-oriented, possess good interpersonal communication skills, and should have a deep commitment and willingness to achieve success, both on a personal and a company-wide level.
Responsibilities
Review counterparty information including financial statements to determine credit worthiness, effectively communicate risks, and develop a strong point of view of a company’s financial strength.
Complete thorough credit analyses and credit reviews for the purpose of determining credit limits and risk ratings for new and existing customers
Analysis activities include:
o Use the Koch Internal Models to complete credit reviews
o Perform financial data spreading, complete ratio analysis to assess the level and trend of a company’s financial strength
o Perform basic research on counterparties’ business profile and competitive position
o Develop an understanding of country risk and industry risk
o Understand account profitability to complete a reward to risk analysis
Prepare credit recommendations and write ups in consultation with and for review/approval by global business teams
Request financials from customers with upcoming review dates
Maintain counterparty credit data (ratings, limits, financials) in respective credit and ERP systems
Prepare monthly credit exposure reporting and/or other metrics
Expectations
Accurately spread customer financial statements into Koch’s internal rating models and complete the objective and subjective analysis components of the rating models
Identifies problem accounts and communicates in an appropriate manner
Timely completion of credit reviews as per agreed timeframes with business
Meet defined department goals and activity metrics in addition to assisting with weekly, monthly and ad-hoc departmental reporting
Understand internal processes and procedures in order to enforce company credit policy and assure adherence to accepted company guidelines
Understand the credit authorities and standards of the supported business
Comfortable and confident to interact with customers to obtain additional credit information to support credit lines
Ability to work on a team as well as be self-directed with independent decision-making capabilities
Must be resourceful, results driven and able to multi-task and prioritize work with a sense of urgency
Critical Competencies
Strong written and verbal communications skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with both internal and external customers
Financial literacy in balance sheet, profit & loss and cash flow statements including notes to the accounts
Thorough and organized

Accounting and MS Office proficiency
Proficient in English
Education and Experience Required
Education
Minimum: 4-year college degree
Preferred: Accounting, Finance, Data Analytics degree
2-3+ years of experience working as credit analyst or financial analyst
Experience
Experience in large multi-national organization; banking, investment bank or rating agency preferred
Experience implementing or supporting data analytics for a business
Experience with Tableau, PowerBI, Alteryx or other data analytics tools
