Demi's Dog House is a premier pet care provider specializing in boutique dog daycare, cage-free boarding, and grooming services for dogs of all sizes. With dedicated indoor and outdoor play areas and 24/7 staffing, we ensure a safe and engaging environment for our furry guests.
Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and responsible Overnight Pet Care Provider to join our team. In this role, you will provide exceptional care for dogs while ensuring their safety and well-being during their stay. Your contributions will help us maintain our reputation as a trusted pet care provider. The position would typically consist of 1 to 3 nights per week. The standard overnight hours are 6:45pm to 7:15am on Mon/Tues/Wed/Thurs overnights, 6:45pm to 9:15am on a Friday overnight and 5pm to 9:15am on a Saturday overnight.
Responsibilities
Supervise and engage with dogs in both indoor and outdoor play areas
Prepare meals for the morning feedings; provide food, water, and medication as instructed
Keep records of feedings, medication, and any health and behavior issues
Maintain cleanliness of the facility by deep cleaning floors, keeping indoor and outdoor play areas clean, changing mop buckets, doing laundry, etc.
Monitor the health and behavior of pets, reporting any concerns to management
Ensure all pets are safe, secure and well cared for during their stay
Note that after the nightly tasks and duties have been completed, the overnight person can rest/sleep until early morning.
Requirements
Complete a written pet care training program in preparation for the overnight shifts
Train with us during several day shifts, temporarily, in order to prepare for overnight shifts
Experience in animal handling or pet care is strongly preferred
An understanding of dog behavior, body language and communication is preferred
Must be physically agile
Excellent communication skills including record keeping for team members and management
A passion for animals and commitment to providing high-quality care
Must pass a criminal background check
