Our Hotel
With traditional heritage architecture and a vintage sandstone facade, the Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel Sydney offers an elegant stay in the civic heart of the CBD. Once home to the Fairfax newspaper empire and the prestigious Bank of New South Wales, our historical building now accommodates business travelers and vacation guests from all over the world. We are a short stroll from prestigious restaurants and bars, luxury shopping, and iconic sites such as the Sydney Opera House, the Queen Victoria Building, and Martin Place.
The Role
As our fulltime Overnight Security Officer, your role is to take sole responsibility of the safety and security of entire the hotel (staff and guests). Your experience in security and efficiently following procedures will see you managing all security matters. You will be supported by our Night Manager, Night Porter and Overnight Chef. This is a full time position and you will be required to work Tuesday - Saturday. Work days might differ on occasion due to operational demands. Please note, this is an overnight position (hours 2300 - 0700).
Your typical shift job duties:
Regular floor checks, which includes guest corridors, and all fire exits
Check of all fire exit doors internal and external
Accident and incident investigation
Assist with any Police or AFP requirements
Assisting with emergency procedures
Assisting operations with room service order delivery and tray clearances if any
Check overnight parked vehicles for any illegal parking or use
Attend to any basic maintenance requests by guests
You will have:
Experience with CCTV is desirable
NSW Security Industry Licence (valid)
NSW RSA (valid)
First Aid Certificate (valid)
Basic computer/ Microsoft Office skills for report writing and email checks
Australian Working Rights
You will be required to have Australian valid ongoing working rights for this opportunity.
Pay Rates
Our rates are as per the Hospitality Industry General Award. Additional penalty rates apply for hours worked between 7pm – midnight and midnight – 7am.
