About The Role
This role is for an experienced iOS-TVOS Developer to join our existing team, with the intention of growing your career with us long term. We are looking for people with excellent experience in Apple TV using Swift (and a strong focus on UI), mobile, TV, OTT and other video application development, as we embark on exciting new projects to develop TVOS streaming in the end-to-end OTT platform space. Responsibilities
• Requirements gathering, refinement & estimation to develop new user-facing features for iOS/Apple TV
• Building reusable components & libraries for future use
• Translating designs/wireframes into high quality code
• Optimizing components for maximum performance across various devices & screen sizes incl. mobiles, tablets & TVs
• Defining the architecture, specification & delivery of projects using sound software engineering principles
• Effective planning to deliver robust, modular, and testable code
• Adhere and improve engineering procedures, code conventions and best practice
• Agile development following the Scrum methodology
• Participate in code reviews and ensure code quality
Required Experience
• Minimum of 3-5 years' experience working on an iOS-TVOS project using Swift, and ideally also Swift UI
• Good knowledge of several commonly used Apple frameworks like, Foundation, UIKit, AV Foundation, Store Kit, XCTest and more
• Good experience in mobile, TV, OTT and video application development
• Proficiency in use of commonly used tools, such as XCode, git, at least one of dependency management tools, Charles, GitHub, Atlassian tools
• Experience in working with APIs exposed using RESTful web services (JSON parsing/serialising, network communication, error handling etc.)
• Awareness of commonly used architecture patterns, concepts, and best practices such as VIPER, MVC, MVVM, asynchronous code patterns, delegation, KVC, singletons
• Knowledge of unit testing frameworks, such as XCTest and Quick/Nimble
• Experience in the streaming media domain with awareness of players, streaming protocols, authentication, media analytics tools, DRM etc
• In-depth knowledge of Apple App submission
• Knowledge of tvOS specifics, input control, focussing system, playback etc
• Experience of in-app purchases
• Experience with the creation of frameworks/libraries to be embedded in other apps
• Knowledge of common debug and optimization techniques in mobile programming
• Knowledge of common usability principles related to mobile programming
• Excellent communication skills
