Job description
As a Package Engineer at Metso's Metals and Chemical Processing Team in Kolkata, you will play a key role in leading and representing the sulphuric acid plant equipment packages during project execution. Your responsibilities include managing the technology basis for proposals, subcontracting, and project execution, along with interfacing with various stakeholders such as the project team, design and process departments, clients, engineering subcontractors, and equipment suppliers. Reporting to the Head MCP Engineering, you will be based mainly in Kolkata with occasional travel to customer sites.
You will work alongside a team of experts from project management, product safety, and metal processing units, collaborating closely with customers, third-party contractors, and the engineering team in Gurugram and Vadodara. Your tasks will involve leading 3rd party contractors, acting as the lead engineer in Sulphuric acid plant projects, defining technical requirements for equipment packages, ensuring a strong focus on schedule and budget, coordinating between different parties involved, participating in supplier selection processes, reviewing supplier documentation, managing document flow, and providing technical support to ensure quality requirements are met.
To excel in this role, you should have knowledge of relevant international codes and standards, the ability to supervise engineering work, willingness to travel internationally if required, effective communication skills in English (German language knowledge is advantageous), a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, a minimum of 6 years of experience in plant engineering and project engineering, and experience in Sulphuric acid plant equipment engineering.
