Job Summary
Job title: Packing & Dispatch @ Jewelry E-Commerce Startup
Job location: Bani Park , Jaipur
Team size: You plus 1 or 2 people initially
Working hours: 10:30am-7:00pm - Monday-Saturday (exact times can be discussed)
Daily stand up: 11am, 6pm
Weekly company meet: Saturday @ 3pm
Other weekly / monthly meetings will be scheduled on an as-needed basis
Job Description
The main function of this role is to manage:
Logistics: Packing and coordination with logistics vendors
Updating Tracking IDs to the system.
Tracking Packages on a daily basis.
Going to vendor places.
It really doesn't matter how much direct experience you have had in the above functions. What matters is your ability to take ownership of the function, help build processes, and solve or escalate problems that arise in a timely manner.
We are looking for people who want to learn and grow, not who have any particular work experience. You will be part of a team of one or two people initially. You will also be responsible for training them and, if necessary, helping to recruit more people.
Skill Required
Ability to speak, read and write basic English.
Understands the difference between output and outcomes.
Ability to take ownership of outcomes. Not just task-oriented.
Ability to plan their day in a calendar and reflect on whether and why things aren't getting done properly.
Ability to conceive of changes to existing processes.
Can use chat tools, ERP tools, email.
Willing to learn tools like Woocommerce & Zoho Inventory.
Can read and prepare reports in excel, PDF, spreadsheets.
Has empathy for customers and vendors.
Ability to check phone all day and respond quickly.
Functions/Responsibilities
No previous experience is required for these functions. The functions are listed here to give you an indication of what you will learn on the job. You just need to be able to use a computer and speak/write English.
Logistics & freight
Put items that have been received into the correct box
Pack items for dispatch as per the pack report given each day as per the SOP
Ensure all items are correctly packed and labeled each day
Ensure each package goes with the correct documentation
Coordinate with logistics & freight providers for dispatches
Ensure international shipments have the correct documentation for legal exports and shipping bill is obtained for each despatch
Update tracking details in the system for each international and domestic dispatch
Keep the customer support team updated about delays or issues / order tasks
Arranging local couriers to pick up items that have been rejected by the customer
Follow up with vendors for items that have been rejected
Employees Reviews
You will be expected to present data for your key areas (packing and dispatch OTD) in a weekly and monthly meeting.
We will conduct a one month and then quarterly check-in for performance reviews.
