Full Time
Duration of the Training Program: up to 2 years
Term of the Contract: 3 years (in line with clause 55 of the Salaried Medical Officers Enterprise Agreement). At the end of the training program, CALHN will work with the employee to assist find a suitable placement within SA Health for the remainder of the 3-year contract, if necessary.

About the Role
Join our Pain Management team at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital and help shape high-quality, patient-centred care. You’ll manage complex pain cases, build clinical expertise and contribute to teaching and research in a supportive, multidisciplinary environment.
Deliver patient-centred pain care across inpatient and outpatient settings
Assess, plan and manage complex pain presentations
Work closely with nursing, allied health and medical teams
Liaise with GPs and external health professionals
Contribute to teaching, learning and research activities
Report to Head of Unit and work under specialist supervision
About You
You’re a motivated trainee ready to grow your pain medicine career, bringing strong clinical capability, teamwork and a genuine commitment to patient-centred care.
Vocationally qualified and eligible for registration with Medical Board of Australia, with postgraduate training in pain medicine.
Clinically experienced and knowledgeable in accordance with the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists Faculty of Pain Medicine curricula, with a clear understanding of relevant clinical standards and procedures.
Strong communicator with excellent interpersonal and written skills, and the ability to work effectively within diverse, multidisciplinary teams.
Committed professional who demonstrates enthusiasm for departmental activities, ongoing learning, and delivering high-quality, compassionate care.
