The Role
BGIS is seeking a Qualified Painter-Decorators to join our Invercargill Trades Team. This is a hands-on role supporting maintenance, renovation, and upgrade projects across both residential and commercial environments —working directly with a multi-disciplinary team on long-term, meaningful government client contracts.
Key Responsibilities
Carry Out Maintenance: Perform regular servicing and repairs and renovations on residential and commercial sites
Install and Upgrade Systems: Complete high-quality painting, finishing, and surface preparation works across residential and commercial properties
Ensure Safety and Compliance: Follow all safety rules and building regulations
Support Projects: Assist with renovations and upgrade projects from start to finish
What You’ll Bring
NZ Certificate in Painting & Decorating or equivalent recognised qualification
Experience in residential maintenance, upgrades, or renovation projects
Sound knowledge of Health & Safety practices and compliance obligations
Ability to use iPad and mobile apps for time & task reporting
A Full (Class 1) NZ Driver Licence and reliable transport
