Job Description
Surface preparation: Inspecting surfaces to be painted, removing old paint, filling cracks and holes with putty, sanding to create a smooth finish.
Color matching: Mixing paints to achieve the desired color according to project specifications.
Application techniques: Applying paint using various tools like brushes, rollers, and spray guns, ensuring even coverage and proper finish.
Protective measures: Covering furniture and fixtures with drop cloths and masking tape to prevent paint damage.
Scaffolding setup: Setting up scaffolding when necessary to reach high areas.
Material management: Maintaining inventory of paint, brushes, rollers, and other painting supplies.
Cleaning and maintenance: Cleaning up work areas after completion of painting tasks.
Skills required for an ITI Painter:
Attention to detail: Ability to carefully apply paint with precision and consistency.
Color sense: Understanding color theory and ability to mix colors accurately.
Physical dexterity: Good hand-eye coordination for precise paint application.
Basic math skills: Calculating paint quantities needed for a project.
Safety awareness: Following safety protocols related to paint fumes and working at heights.
