Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Painter to oversee and execute high-quality painting projects across commercial, and industrial settings. As a Lead Painter, you will be responsible for guiding a team of painters, ensuring safety standards are met, and delivering exceptional results that enhance the aesthetic and structural integrity of our clients’ properties. Duties

Lead and coordinate painting crews on projects, ensuring work is completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards.
Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, plastering, caulking, and repairing as needed to ensure optimal paint adhesion.
Handle and address small drywall projects, hang, tape/mud/finish.
Apply paints, stains, primers, sealers, and specialty coatings using various methods including brushes, rollers, hand tools, power tools, airless paint spraying equipment, and welding techniques when necessary.
Read blueprints, schematics, and detailed construction drawings to determine scope of work and specific requirements for each project.
Conduct construction estimating for painting projects by calculating surface areas and material needs to provide accurate cost assessments.
Perform specialized painting tasks such as industrial coating applications, restoration work, stucco finishing, masonry sealing, and renovation projects.
Install fixtures such as trim carpentry elements and other surface enhancements like molding or framing components.
Manage construction site safety protocols while maintaining a clean work environment; ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Collaborate with project managers and clients to plan project timelines and communicate progress or issues promptly.
Train team members on proper use of hand tools, power tools, scaffolding setup, welding techniques when applicable, and other relevant skills.
Ensure all work complies with local building codes and safety regulations; read schematics and technical drawings accurately.
Maintain detailed records of project progress, materials used, inspections performed, and any incidents or issues encountered during work.
Train any and all labor onsite to ensure they follow company specs and expectations.
Qualifications

Proven experience in residential painting as well as commercial or industrial painting projects; construction site experience is essential.
Strong knowledge of color theory to achieve desired aesthetic effects.
Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools including airless spray equipment, scaffolding setup, caulking guns, plastering tools, masonry equipment, welding gear if applicable, and other relevant hardware.
Ability to read blueprints, schematics, renovation plans and understand technical drawings accurately.
Familiarity with construction estimating processes for paint jobs including surface measurement and material calculations.
Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to project scope.
Knowledge of construction safety standards including proper handling of chemicals and hazardous materials.
Strong leadership abilities with excellent communication skills to guide teams effectively.
