Job Description
We are seeking skilled and experienced painters to join our team. The successful candidates will be responsible for delivering high quality painting work on arrange of residential or commercial projects
Type of employment: full-time permanent
Work region: Wellington
Pay Rate: from $28.00 to $35.00 per hour (based on skills and experience)
Work Hours: Minimum of 30 hours, maximum 60 hours per week
Flexibility to work on weekends if required
Job Duties:
Discussing plans with relevant clients
Read blueprints/instructions and examine surfaces to determine the kind and amount of work necessary
Make on-site preparations such as building scaffolding and ladders, covering fixtures etc.
Selecting the appropriate painting materials for different sites
Prepare walls and other surfaces for painting including cleaning, sanding and patching by removing old paint and wall paper, fixing holes and cracks, smoothing and sealing, etc.
Mix paint and other materials to prepare the right color or texture
Paint surfaces according to instructions with various tools
Apply various paint finishes, including brush, rollers, spray application to interior and exterior surfaces
Match paint samples for touch up
Hanging wallpaper when required, trimming edges
Tidying up and cleaning the tools, equipment and the work areas
Take and adhere to all health and safety precautions, including working at heights
Work effectively with other tradespeople on the construction site
Any other duties the employer reasonably may require employee to perform
Requirements:
Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience OR a Level 4 qualification in painting or related field
Strong understanding of surface preparation paint application method
Be Reliable and punctual
Be attention to details and being extra careful
Ability to work independently and as part of team
Ability to work in various conditions including heights
Be physically fit
Full time availability, may works on weekends
No criminal record
Candidates need to be NZ citizens/residents
