Responsibilities
Description: Prepare parts for painting
Operate air gun to spray tanks, covers, guards, and other production parts with prepared mixed paint
Prepare and thin paint as required
Adjust volume of spray as needed to obtain proper finish
Spray paint, lacquer, or anti-rust oil, do some hand brushing as necessary
Apply special paint per customer specifications
Proper handling of toxic materials required
Apply labels to painted finished pumps according to their model number
Trouble shoot airless system; repair air gun with factory repair kit
Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned
Clean and dry parts prior to applying paint
Select appropriate coatings, paints, or sprays, or prepare them by mixing substances according to formulas, using automated paint mixing equipment
Hold or position spray guns to direct spray onto articles
Fill hoppers, reservoirs, troughs, or pans with material used to coat, paint, or spray, using conveyors, or pails
Start and stop operation of machines, using levers or buttons
Determine paint flow, viscosity, and coating quality by performing visual inspections, or by using viscometers
Clean up per specifications for materials used
Do paint inventory periodically throughout the year
Maintain appropriate pump inventory records
Check room humidity and temperature before painting
Verify correct routing of pumps
Report discrepancies to supervisor
Follow relevant work instructions and/or SOP
Install motors to pumps if required
May be required to operate industrial trucks (fork trucks, lift trucks, etc.)
May train new employees
May use computer systems to enroll in benefits and interact with other company data systems.
This includes meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction

Position Summary
