Responsibilities
Painters perform a variety of tasks such as masking, sanding, painting, sand blasting, and minor assembly of equipment
Painters ensure that the parts have been correctly prepared and painted according to the required specifications for each job
Inspect product prior to painting
Material Preparation – masking, washing, blowing, sanding, blasting and preparing components/parts
Maintain and operate washing and abrasive blasting equipment
Painting, select and mix paints, prime, check mill thickness during and post paint and operating painting equipment including pumps and guns
Some minor dis-assembly and assembly of mechanical equipment
Cleaning of area and machines
Daily, Weekly, and Monthly maintenance of equipment
Development of a maintenance program for paint and sand blast areas
Inventory and tracking system of consumables (notify supervisor when product needs to be ordered)
Tracking of VOC records
Read specifications, drawings, and diagrams to determine work procedures
Material Handling – moving material including the use of a pallet jack, forklift or overhead crane
Mark part numbers, pallet parts, and prepare for next operation
Accurate Log In and Log Out from Jobs and Operations
Provide accurate counts and quantities on all paperwork and in Job Boss
Report, tag and complete Non-conformance for defective parts
All other duties assigned
Standing for long periods of time throughout the day

Position Summary

• 2-3 years’ experience in 2 part Epoxy and Polyurethane paint preferred
• Sandblasting experience preferred
