Painter/Decorator

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Painter & Decorator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in various painting techniques and a strong attention to detail. This role involves working on both residential and commercial projects, ensuring that all work meets high standards of quality and craftsmanship. The Painter & Decorator will be responsible for preparing surfaces, applying paint, and finishing touches to enhance the aesthetic appeal of spaces.

Duties

Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and caulking as necessary.

Apply paint, varnish, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.

Restore and maintain existing paintwork on various structures.

Collaborate with carpenters and other tradespeople to build or modify structures as needed.

Read and interpret blueprints to understand project requirements and specifications.

Rig scaffolding or ladders as necessary for access to high or difficult areas.

Perform industrial painting tasks in compliance with safety regulations.

Ensure all work is completed efficiently while maintaining a clean and organized workspace.

Skills

Proficiency in caulking techniques for seamless finishes.

Experience in commercial painting projects with a focus on durability and aesthetics.

Ability to restore surfaces to their original condition through skilled application of paint and finishes.

Basic carpentry skills for minor construction tasks related to painting projects.

Strong understanding of blueprint reading for effective project execution.

Knowledge of construction painting practices for various environments (residential, commercial, industrial).

Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality results.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $18.30 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 45 per week
